Hiromi Miwa, PHD

Principal

Hiromi is a Principal at Catalys Pacific, where he leads the sourcing and due diligence efforts. His primary focus is on forming new companies based on sourced assets, leveraging his extensive experience in both scientific research and business development.

Prior to joining Catalys Pacific, Hiromi conducted interdisciplinary translational research aimed at clinical applications in academia. He led the academic side of a collaborative project with the General Electric Global Research Center to develop novel therapeutics for obesity treatment. Through this project, he obtained preclinical data necessary to initiate clinical trials. He also has experience in the practical implementation of research technologies at leading companies in the field of healthcare and life science, including new business planning at Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.

After graduating from Keio University, Hiromi worked as a research assistant at the University of Tokyo, where he developed a strong foundation in research methodologies and experimental techniques. He then earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, focusing on advanced topics in biomedical sciences.
