Hayato Urabe, PhD, MPIA

Hayato is a Vice President at Catalys Pacific. Previously, he served as Head of Investment at the Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund, a public-private partnership fund, where he was responsible for investment strategy, execution, and portfolio management for the development of therapeutics, diagnostics, and vaccines for infectious diseases endemic to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), as well as for access-to-medicine initiatives. Prior to GHIT, he worked as a global corporate venture manager in Silicon Valley. He brings a unique perspective spanning science, finance, and access to medicine.

He earned his B.S. and Ph.D. from Brown University and his M.P.I.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
